Heather Gowdy
Heather was La Piana Consulting's first employee (hired in 1998) and played a lead role in designing and implementing their Strategic Solutions Project, a foundation-funded initiative aimed at increasing the awareness of the nonprofit sector of the potential value of strategic restructuring activities, such as mergers, joint ventures, and administrative consolidations.

Stuart G. Hoffman
Hoffman is senior vice president and chief economist for The PNC Financial Services Group and serves as the principal spokesperson on all economic issues for PNC. Hoffman was recognized as the second most accurate economic and interest rate forecaster for 2006 by USA Today and as the most accurate forecaster for 2004 by BusinessWeek. In addition, he was named one of the top forecasters in the Wall Street Journal economic survey covering the 1988 to 2009 period.

Mark Rosenman
Rosenman directs Caring to Change, an effort to develop new foundation grantmaking strategies conducted in conjunction with the Aspen Institute’s Program on Philanthropy and Social Innovation.  He is a professor emeritus at the Union Institute & University where he previously served as Vice President for Social Responsibility and as its first Distinguished Public Service Professor.

Ralph Smith
Smith joined the Annie E. Casey Foundation in 1994 as director of planning and development and is currently Executive Vice President and Chief Policy Officer. He serves on the boards of the Foundation Center, Wachovia Regional Foundation, Venture Philanthropy Partners, the Clinton Center on Community Philanthropy and the Annenberg Institute for School Reform. He is a member of the Advisory Council of the Aspen Institute’s Nonprofit Sector and Philanthropy Program and was an active participant in the International Network on Strategic Philanthropy. Smith is the immediate past chair of the board of the Council on Foundations.
