An online resource for donors and small-staffed foundations looking to gain expertise on issues facing disadvantaged communities. Covering a range of topics--from housing to the healthcare--CGR offers examples of effective funding strategies and straight-forward information for donors working within their local communities. 

The Foundation Center
The Center provides resources and services for grantseekers as well as grantmakers.

The Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers
The national association of associations of grantmakers, working to help individual association staff, volunteer leaders and member grantmakers work together across regions more effectively.

Grantcraft
This website from the Ford Foundation offers resources from grantmakers for grantmakers on the tools and techniques of effective grantmaking. Among the tools available are guides, videos, and case studies that present the practitioner's view of philanthropy.

Grantmaker Affinity Groups
Affinity groups are organizations founded by grantmakers who have common interests. These groups provided opportunities for grantmakers with common interests to meet each other, share knowledge and encourage collaborative funding.

Independent Sector
The IS mission is to promote, strengthen, and advance the nonprofit and philanthropic community to foster private initiative for the public good.

The Philanthropy Roundtable
A national association of individual donors, corporate giving representatives, foundation staff and trustees, and trust and estate officers.

National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy
A national membership organization which works make philanthropy more responsive to people with the least wealth and opportunity, more relevant to critical public needs, and more open and accountable to all, in order to create a more just and democratic society.

The National Center for Family Philanthropy
A nonprofit organization group dedicated to assisting families engaged in philanthropy in effective giving.
